International workshops and conferences as closing events of the project
DIVERCITY CLOSING EVENT
The closing event of Divercity project has consisted of several events in English and Spanish, distributed on various dates and spaces of the city of Madrid, that have contributed to share knowledge, use and development of all products obtained.
From September 12th to 14th, the Workshop event took place at the Faculty of Communication at the Complutense University of Madrid, where the methodologies that had been applied in intellectual products IO3, IO4, IO5 and IO6 were exposed and shared in a participatory and active way, and also the output result of curriculum products in IO7 and IO8. These workshops were given by all members of the strategic partnership sharing their knowledge and experiences.
From 15th to 16th the presentation of all intellectual products took place at the Cultural Centre Conde Duque, in the corn of Madrid city, and in this forum it was shown all the intelectual outputs of the project, their use, scope and possible implementation in other areas, as well as the use of web Divercity portal. Good practices, methodological foundations bricks and specific experiences from different outputs in each and every one of the cities where these activities took place were shown and presented.
In this event the Madrid City Council, University and Educational team of Museum Thyssen Bornemisza were actively involved accepting and in close interest of the project results.
During these days, from 12th to 16th, the presentation of outputs were accompanied by visits to museums such as Museo Reina Sofía and Thyssen Bornemisza and tours around the city which these inclusive methodologies were put in motion. In order to establish synergies and mutual knowledge of the products and actions local associations were invited to share good practices and objectives related to inclusion and diversity such as CRPS Latina or the Liminal.
With the intention to expand the impact of the project results, and reach specific Spanish- speaking audiences the event was expanded in Spanish language for two weeks in different areas of the Community of Madrid. On 22th and 29th products were presented at the Autonomous University of Madrid, especially to those who complete their training in special needs education, pedagogy and education and social work.
The 23th, the products were presented at LaSalle Univeristy School. On 26th and 29th products were presented in at th Faculty of Education of Complutense University, especially those who complete their training in education, pedagogy and education and social work.
On the 29th, together with the Office of Attention to Diversity of the University Complutense of Madrid, the LGTB itinerary, designed within the project, was presented at the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum, with the presence of the Vice Rector of attention to Diversity.
On day 30th, the products were presented at Cardinal Cisneros School, University of Alcalá, especially to those who complete their training in social work and education.
All these big and small events have contributed to expand and share all the intelectual products of DIVERCITY Project that have reached our goals far beyond our former expectations two years ago. All these confirms the idea that Museums and cities are keen to open culture and arts to embrace Diversity and also to share with new audiences new ways of conceiving culture.
